Our Story
From Pet Parent to Palace Owner
Barkingham Palace was started 15 years ago in Henderson by Mariana Logan, right after she completed grooming school. I was her client first. I was that pet parent who insisted on touring the salon and meeting the groomer before I would make a single appointment, and Mariana and I became friends.
I spent plenty of time hanging out at the shop, watching her work and asking endless questions. Never did I think I would become a groomer. But when it was time to go back to my corporate job, I admitted I wasn't looking forward to it and had no idea what I would do instead. Mariana said, “Why don't you learn how to groom?” So I did, and I went to work for her.
With a year left on her lease, we agreed that I would buy the business when it ended. I have had an entrepreneurial spirit since I was a child, and this was my chance to chase it. That was 10 years ago, and the rest is history.
As a woman-owned small business, we've built Barkingham Palace around relationships — with our clients, their dogs, and our Henderson community. We're not a big-box grooming chain; we're a neighborhood salon that happens to treat every dog like royalty.
